It all started when...
...our founders recognized there was a lack of professional resources within the Chicago advertising industry focused on supporting and elevating diverse talent. They began to focus their individual strengths to create the organization that stands today, and following a year of brainstorms, late nights and industry leader support, MAFA Chicago was launched.
Since 2011, the organization has played an integral role in developing talent, facilitating the necessary conversation of diversity in the workplace and creating strategic partnerships with companies to help further it’s mission. Through carefully curated events, the organization drives against three tenants: mentorship, networking and professional development.
As the organization grew, so did its network. Today the organization supports over 1,500 members, many of which reach beyond the advertising industry.
With this growth, the mission expanded to be a resource to members of the brand marketing, communications and technology industry across Chicago.
In 2016, MAFA Chicago rebranded to Coalesce Chicago. While the organization still drives against consistent tenants, Coalesce Chicago's footprint has widened to support diverse professionals across the very vast communications industry. Today the organization proudly supports professionals from organizations such as Facebook, DigitasLBi and MillerCoors – to name a very few.
Through strategic partnerships and continued execution, Coalesce Chicago plans to continue to evolve as the premier organization for professional resources for diverse individuals in Chicago.
